Start with the window, the way you want the curtains to hang and your total budget. You can use this checklist without registering or buying anything.
Write down the measurements
Follow the seller’s measuring instructions for the exact curtain and heading style. Record the width, finished length and where the rod or track will sit. Check whether the quoted width refers to one panel or the complete pair, and how the seller accounts for fullness. If a measurement is unclear, ask before ordering.
Compare the fabric and lining
Look at the material, care instructions, available lining and product-specific light-control information. If samples are available, check their cost and delivery time. A screen preview may not show how a fabric looks beside your walls or in the room’s lighting.
Match the mounting details
Check the heading style, rod or track compatibility, number of panels and any separate hardware you need. Read the installation and safety instructions for the exact products. Confirm what comes in the package.
